This weekend I finally resolved an issue that was mounting up to spotty web server downtime. One of my web sites was hit with a large amount of traffic. The same time last year, my web server survived this spike in traffic. This year, the server did not appreciate the huge amounts of visitors. The site was not down for more than 15 minutes, and they still achieved a lot of new donations last Friday, but I had to take a stance, and take control of my server's performance. From logging into my SSH, and reading out the strace of the MySql process, I was faced with some buffer levels that should have been configured over two years ago! I sat down through seven lessons of the SSH advanced text editor, VIM, and that sure helped the situation with making some variable type changes to the my.cnf configuration file.

Making sure the changes were correct, I restarted the server, and now awaiting 24 hours before I run another test of the MySQL Tuner.
